Weeping Silence

Weeping Silence has been in the metal scene since the 90s and has gone through a period of musical experimentation that contributed to the dynamic music that it produced so far. The band came together with the release of the debut EP ‘Deprived from Romance’. Subsequently the musical direction and line-up changed considerably and Weeping Silence sought new ideas from the doom, and gothic genres.
Weeping Silence (WS) recorded the 1st album ‘End of an Era’ in 2003 featuring Rachel Grech on vocals, and released it under the Greek Record Label Sleaszy Rider Records.
In the period 2006-2008 WS entered Temple Studios again to record the 2nd album ‘Theater of Life’, which retains some elements of the previous album, but with a faster pace and the introduction of a choir accompanied with grandeur orchestrations. The album was released via Ravenheart Music Records in May 2011. In the year running up to the release of ‘Theatre of Life’ WS signed a one-year Management Contract with Alkemist-Fanatix Europe to boost promotion. The band was rewarded with good press and plays on metal radio stations. The track ‘Dark Waters’ off this album was voted first in the EKR A-List People’s Choice Poll in July 2011, and the album was nominated for Best Gothic Metal Album in the 2011 Metal Storm Webzine Awards.
In summer of 2010 the band played a UK Midlands tour with To-Mera, Liquid Sky, Asomvel and Winter Storm, amongst others. In 2011 WS added the Extreme Metal Assault Summer Festival (XMA) to the concert dates. Over the years WS has appeared on-stage at several festivals and concerts, including the XMA, FEM Fest, Malta Doom Metal Fest and others. Several concerts and festivals for 2012 are in the pipeline, and organisers can get in touch with the band for booking in Europe.
We also feature on the compilation CDs ‘Des Filles et des Riffs, Vol.1’ (2010) and ‘Vol.2’ (2011) released by Savage Productions and distributed by Seasons of Mist, featuring Epica, Diabolo Swing Orchestra, Kells, To-Mera, Tristania & others.
WS entered the studio again in 2011-2012, this time at Spine Splitter Studio, to record the 3rd album that features male backing vocals together with Rachel as lead vocalist. The songs are more aggressive and doom-oriented. Anders Jacobsson (Draconian) also features as guest vocalist on the album. The record is produced by Brett Caldas Lima at Tower Studios. More information will be released soon
